Where the texts come from

The texts of the 64 hexagrams are a rewrite of James Legge's translation, published in 1882 and now in the public domain. This site does not use the Wilhelm/Baynes translation.

Nothing is generated when you cast

When you cast, no text is generated at that moment. Every text is prepared in advance: it was rewritten from Legge with AI assistance and reviewed by Hangamori, one by one. So the same cast in the same language always shows the same texts.

Your cast is yours

Your question and your cast history stay in your browser and are never sent to this site or to any other server. To show a reading, your browser only downloads the text of each hexagram, the same file every visitor gets. The little data that is sent is explained in the privacy policy.
