Judgement
Lasting is not repeating the same thing, but keeping what is essential while everything changes. There is progress with little risk of error, on one condition: firmness and integrity. With that there is an advantage in any direction. What lasts both moves and holds firm. Ask yourself what you want to last in your life, and what you are willing to change to make that happen.

Thunder and wind: two forces that accompany and feed each other. The wise person stands firm and does not change their method. But this is not rigidity: it is faithfulness to what matters. Constancy is not stubbornness; it is knowing what deserves your persistence. Ask yourself where you stand firm from conviction and where you do it only from habit.
Lines
Line 1
You want deep permanence, too soon. Even with firmness the result is poor: there is little advantage. It is the mistake of asking for what is built over time before having lived it. Do not demand permanence of what has just begun. Ask yourself which relationship or project you are loading with forever-expectations when it is barely a day old.
Line 2
Reasons for regret fade. What troubled you loses weight with time. Sometimes constancy alone solves what hurry could not. Stay in your place calmly. Ask yourself what regret you still carry, and whether you would keep carrying it if you let time do its work.
Line 3
You do not keep your virtue constant, and someone throws it in your face as a disgrace. Even if you are firm, there is reason for regret. Today you say one thing, tomorrow another. Do not punish yourself, but do not ignore it either. Ask yourself where you are less constant than you want to be.
Line 4
A field without game: you strive for what is not where you look. Changing place may be more useful than insisting where there is nothing. Ask yourself whether you keep searching where you already know what you need is not, and whether it is time to look somewhere else.
Line 5
You keep constant the virtue asked of you. For someone who accompanies, that is a good sign; for someone who must decide case by case, a bad one. Following the same pattern works when you accompany; it fails when you must judge each situation. Ask yourself whether what is yours today is to follow or to decide.
Line 6
You get worked up thinking about a long duration. That is a bad sign. The wish to last, turned into agitation, is no longer constancy. Whoever obsesses over making something last may end up spoiling it. Loosen the tension a little. Ask yourself whether your effort to hold something has turned into anxiety.
Reflection
- What do you want to last in your life, and what are you willing to change for it?
- Where do you stand firm from conviction, and where from habit?
- Where do you keep looking for something you already know is not there?
