9 小畜 Small Taming
Judgement
Dense clouds hang in the sky, but the rain has not come yet. Something is piling up with no way to let go. Even so, there is a way, though a slow one. This is not the time for big blows, but for adding small things: a kind gesture, a detail, a bit more patience. When strength is small, holding back is a way of moving forward. Ask yourself what you are holding back, and whether it is wise to let it ripen a little longer before you release it.
Image
The wind blows across the sky: it stirs, brushes, caresses, but it cannot overcome something so vast. It is the gentle force that tends to details. The image invites you to refine how your virtue shows, that is, your small gestures and the way you treat others. You cannot change the sky, but you can change what is within your reach. Polish how you speak, how you listen, how you keep your word.
Lines
Line 1
You return to your own path, the one that is already yours. What mistake could there be in that? It is a good sign. When you have nearly strayed, going back to what belongs to you restores your course. You do not need to justify yourself: just return to where you know you belong.
Line 2
Something draws you back to the right path, and you do not return alone. This line speaks of the strength of good company when you correct your course: returning alone is not the same as returning with someone who shares your direction. If you see someone else turning back, walk beside them.
Line 3
A cart whose axle straps have been removed does not move. Or a couple who look at each other without seeing, eyes turned away. This is an image of blockage: forcing it would only break more. If something will not move, ask yourself which strap is missing. Sometimes it is not bad luck, it is a loose part.
Line 4
You are sincere, and so the danger of blood withdraws and your fears fade. You are unlikely to be at fault. This is the strength of being honest when everything seems to get complicated. If something weighs on you, ask yourself whether you are dealing with it openly. Say it plainly, hiding nothing.
Line 5
You are sincere, and that binds you to others. You are not alone: your wealth is not yours alone, you share it with your neighbors. It is a good image of community. Ask yourself with whom you share what you have, and who shares what is theirs with you.
Line 6
The rain has already fallen and the advance stops: it is time to take stock of what has built up. But whoever holds another back, even for good reason, is in a delicate position, like the moon about to be full. If you keep pushing now, that is a bad sign. Stop and appreciate what you have gathered.
Reflection
- What are you accumulating that it is not yet time to release?
- What small, careful gesture could you make today instead of a big blow?
- Which loose part is stopping you from moving forward without your noticing?
