Judgement

You face a force that begins something, carries it through and brings it to completion. It is original energy: clear, firm, without duplicity. What you start now has drive to spare, but drive only helps if you steer it with integrity and persistence. You do not need to force anything; you need to hold your course. Ask yourself whether what you move deserves this strength and whether you will keep it up when the novelty fades. Firmness here is not rigidity: it is staying the same person tomorrow.

Image

Heaven moves with strength and never stops. Notice that: it does not speed up or wear out, it simply goes on. That is the constancy you are asked for now. Not a brilliant start followed by abandonment, but sustained activity, day after day, even when nobody is watching. Strengthen yourself without fuss: repeated work builds more than the heroic gesture. If something deserves your energy, give it all of it and keep giving. Real strength shows in what you do on the day you do not feel like it.

Lines

Line 1

The dragon is hidden in the deep. You have ability, perhaps a great deal, but this is not the time to show it or to act. Nobody sees you yet, and that is an advantage: use it to prepare without pressure. Waiting is not wasted time when what grows keeps growing in silence.

Line 2

The dragon appears in the field, in plain sight. You are becoming visible, and what you do already affects others. This is a good time to look for someone with more experience than you and learn from them. Do not go alone out of pride: someone who has walked the road can save you years.

Line 3

You work all day with energy, and at night you are still alert, going over it all. You are in an exposed position: you have advanced far enough that mistakes now cost a lot. The danger is real, but do not stop; keep watch without letting it turn into anguish. Steady attention is what can carry you through.

Line 4

The dragon seems to leap, yet it is still in the deep. You stand at the threshold: you can take the step or stay where you are, and neither choice need be a mistake. Decide calmly and by your own measure, without being dragged along by impatience or by what others expect of you.

Line 5

The dragon flies through the sky. You have reached the place where your strength is seen and fully used. This is the moment of greatest influence, and also of greatest responsibility. Surround yourself with capable people and listen to them: what you build now is more likely to last if you do not raise it alone.

Line 6

The dragon flies beyond its limits. You have gone too far, or you are about to: the strength that brought you here no longer knows when to stop. Something you do now may weigh on you later. Loosen the bow. Recognizing the limit in time is also a form of strength.

Reflection

  1. Where in your life do you have energy to spare, and where are you spending it without direction?
  2. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would see it for a long time?
  3. Where is your limit right now, and how will you know you have crossed it?
